HEPWORTH, ON – Short-track competitor Andrew Gresel of the Late Model ranks in Ontario plans to take his first green flag in a Ford Fusion prepared by Wes Gonder Racing at the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 in the ARCA Racing Series this coming February.
Preparations have been ongoing since February 2012 for this exciting partnership with Wes Gonder Racing of Moorseville, NC, with title sponsor Sauble Falls Tent & Trailer Park of Sauble Beach, ON. Having had experience in the CARS Pro Cup Series, this will be Wes Gonder Racing’s debut in the ARCA Racing Series, which runs on February 16, 2013 at Daytona International Speedway
With six years of Late Model racing experience, Gresel has proven himself in both Ontario and on the International stage at New Smyrna Speedweeks in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Gresel, the reigning 2011 points champion at Delaware Speedway, has had multiple feature wins in Ontario, including the 2010 and 2012 Beat the Heat 150 at Sauble Speedway and the prestigious Great Canadian 200 at Delaware Speedway in 2011.
Currently, Andrew Gresel, sponsored by McRobert Fuels, Canadian Union of Skilled Workers (CUSW), SPIRA Fire Protection, Overland Heating & Cooling, and Sauble Falls Tent & Trailer Park, is third in points in the Late Model division at Delaware Speedway, just nine points back of the leader, with three events remaining in the 2012 season.
While the car number is still to be decided, it will be announced in the coming weeks. Andrew will be required to meet the expectations of the ARCA Racing Series at a mandatory test session prior to the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona International Speedway.
