BRAMPTON, ON- It’s likely that Billy Zardo will consider his official 2014 debut on hold until his next appearance on May 17th.
The third-generation battled his Port City Racing chassis all afternoon, combating a litany of problems ranging from handling issues to brake troubles.
“Today just wasn’t our day”, explained a composed Zardo in post-race debriefing. “These are the moments in racing that you need to have a short memory for. Go home, work on your stuff, come back and pretend it didn’t happen”
Zardo opened his afternoon with a strong practice session, but developed problems in his final time on track before qualifying time trials.
“We chased a handling issue all the way through the final practice session. It had alot to do with why we didn’t get the qualifying effort we were looking for”
The team soldiered on, working feverishly to make adjustments mid-race, even as the issues intensified.
“It seemed as though the car got harder to handle as the day went on. As soon as we lost the brakes just past halfway, we decided to call it a day”
‘Z3’ will take two weeks to regroup, before returning to action at Sunset Speedway on May 17th.
Marketing support for Billy’s 2014 campaign will come from Holmes on Homes, National Exhaust, Hassell Automotive, Big Chute Marina, J.A. Towing, Smart Screen and Better Contracting.
