(March 4, 2017) Toronto, ON- The Supercross Toronto packs the perfect punch of action and adrenaline into every inch of dirt in this man versus machine showdown. If you’re new to the sport, here are five things to know about Supercross Saturday in Toronto.

1: This is the only Canadian Supercross event
The 2017 Monster Energy Supercross Toronto returns to Rogers Centre, this Saturday, March 4, for the only Canadian stop on the tour. The best riders from across the globe will be in Toronto, including reigning AMA Supercross champion Ryan Dungey (pictured), along with marquee names like Eli Tomac, Marvin Musquin, and Chad Reed. If you want to see the best in the world live on Canadian soil, here’s your chance!

2: These guys are superb athletes
Supercross riders are a hybrid of world-class soccer players (cardiovascular endurance, aggression) and bull riders (physical brutality, strength), and can experience g-force loads between 12-18 g (space shuttle astronauts hit 3 g for about two minutes upon re-entry). They are fearless too, navigating obstacles that launch them as high as 30 feet in the air, covering distances upwards of 90 feet, all while manhandling a 225-pound motorcycle against 21 other competitors at speed.

3: Supercross is a show
Supercross is a spectacle, with 100-plus fireworks/pyro elements used in the opening ceremonies at every event. The race start is one of most exciting moments in sport, as 22 riders launch out of the starting gate roaring towards the first turn. Where a rider emerges from the start likely makes or breaks his chances at winning. The action in the evening show is non-stop.

4: Oh Canada! Cheer on Cole Thompson
Here’s the guy to cheer for at Rogers Centre. Canada’s Cole Thompson (#72) is running a six-race program in the Monster Energy Supercross Eastern Regional 250SX class. The Brigden, ON racer recently inked a new three-year deal with the KTM Canada factory motocross team and will be back to defend his Canadian MX2 title this summer.

5: Good seats still available starting at $10
Monster Energy Supercross Toronto tickets are still available, with a range of seating options to choose. You can purchase online at www.ticketmaster.ca or in person at the Rogers Centre Box Office (Gate 9), or by phone 1-855-985-5000. Rogers Centre Gates open at noon Saturday, March 4, with afternoon qualifying. The Main Event starts at 6:30 pm.
