Montreal, July 30, 2013.- The Media Racing Team and its driver Jocelyn Fecteau were in action last weekend at the Circuit Mont-Tremblant to contest two new Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) races. The Summer Classic at Mont-Tremblant marked the 2013 mid-season of the CTCC and proved to be profitable for Fecteau who drove his Rockstar Scion tC to a Touring Class “Top 5” in each of the two races.

The weekend got off on the wrong foot for the team when their transmission forced a premature end to Friday’s practice session.

“I only got to do two practice laps before we had the problem.   At that point, we had two options: either go home or work through the night to fix the transmission and continue racing,” indicated Jocelyn Fecteau.

The driver from Mont-St-Grégoire (QC) added “our guys are incredible; they gave a whole new meaning to “teamwork” as they worked all night to ensure the car would be ready for Saturday morning’s qualifying session.”

Jocelyn Fecteau qualified sixth for the first race and completed it as the fifth Touring class driver.

“The Rockstar Scion tC was perfect during the race, without any mechanical issues at all.  I just needed to be very careful because the track was more slippery than usual,” explained Fecteau.

He once again qualified in sixth for Sunday’s race, in which he again finished in fifth Touring class spot.

“The second race was more intense.  I was sixth place and faster than the Mini in front of me. Our cars lightly touched when I was able to pass him.  It was obviously not on purpose and both cars were able to continue as I was on my way to my second consecutive “Top 5″ finish.”

Jocelyn Fecteau comes away with a positive outlook from the weekend, “It feels really good to have these two “Top 5″ results after what happened on Friday.  We weren’t able to gain any spots in the drivers’ championship standings. I remain in sixth place, which is a little lower than where we stood at this point in the season last year. But we can’t forget that I didn’t contest the first two rounds of the season last May in Ontario. It hurts us not to have those points but I’m optimistic for the next event in Trois-Rivières.”

The following outling for the CTCC drivers will take place on the weekend of August 9-11, as part of the Grand Prix de Trois Rivieres
