Stroud, ON (June 28, 2017)- Saturday night brought another solid night for Eric Yorke, as he would post a solid top-five finish at Sunset Speedway.
Yorke started off the night solidly, placing third in his first heat, followed by a runner-up in the second qualifier.
Starting 18th in the feature as the points leader, he would make up ground early, moving into the sixth spot as of Lap 5. He would pass Joe Dunlop to break into the top-five just before the caution waved for a spin in turn two.
Restarting fifth, he moved into the fourth position on Lap 9, running there till the second caution flew for a spin in turn two. Once again restarting inside the top-five, Nic Montanari was able to get alongside him for fourth, completing the pass with six laps to go, and bringing his brother Daniel through with him to bump Yorke back to sixth.
Yorke was then able to pass Andy Kamrath in the final couple of laps to finish fifth.
With solid finishes each week, Yorke currently leads the series standings, 17 markers ahead of Charlie Smith. He is also currently in the midst of a three-way tie for fourth in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Division III Standings, only two points out of the second position.
