DARTMOUTH, NS (September 7, 2017) – The MJS Holdings Limited East Coast Mini Stock Tour continues their New Brunswick voyage this Saturday night with a stop at River Glade’s Petty International Raceway. The Gilmet Designs 50 is the third race on the six race schedule for 2017 and the only stop at the high banked bullring in the shadows of Moncton. Racing action begins on Saturday, September 9th at 4pm.

Dave Matthews (Kennetcook, NS) took the championship point lead after last Saturday’s Pub’s Drive Thru Bottle Exchange 50 at Speedway 660. Matthews only led two laps in the race, the final two laps, after passing rookie Darren Flemming (Belnan, NS) on the outside groove to take the first MJS Holdings Limited East Coast Mini Stock Tour victory of his career. Flemming settled for second in the “Geary woods” while Daniel Delorey (Afton, NS) was awarded third after Neil Miousse (Kentville, NS) failed post race technical inspection.

Matthews moves into the point lead in the “Mystery Machine” over a familiar foe in the Warren brothers – Matthew and Andrew (White’s Lake, NS). Matthew drove the No. 31 car in Geary to a fourth place run. The two former multiple time Scotia Speedworld track champions are separated atop the MJS Holdings Limited East Coast Mini Stock Tour standings by nine points. Riverside International Speedway winner Tim Webster (Beaver Bank, NS) sits third in the standings, 14 points removed from Matthews and five markers ahead of Chris Hatcher (Beaver Bank, NS).

Kody Quinn (Sydney, NS) will make his MJS Holdings Limited East Coast Mini Stock Tour debut on Saturday, driving for Bob Landry (Havre Boucher, NS) in the No. 55 car. Greg McKay (Eastern Passage, NS) will be the third driver to step into the No. 23 car after Mark Williams (Elmsdale, NS) and Megan Parrott (Beaver Bank, NS) took the wheel in the first two events on the series.

Cody Byrne (Orwell Cove, PE), former Eastern Super Mini Cup Series champion Matt Watson (Miscouche, PE) and recent Oyster Bed Speedway Outlaw winner Mitchell Arsenault (Summerside, PE) will head across the Confederation Bridge to compete in the Gilmet Designs 50 on Saturday evening.

“The Ironman” Drew MacEachern (Dartmouth, NS), Doug Webb (River Ryan, NS) and Nic Baker (Upper Sackville, NS) will be looking to take the Gilmet Designs 50 to Nova Scotia. Mike Edwards (Penobsquis, NB) is currently the lone New Brunswick entry for the event.
