Bowmanville, ON- On August 25, Beeton, ON’s Dwight Brown scored his fourth feature win of the season in Round 5 of the Ontario Modified Racing Series presented by Techtonix Construction schedule, in an event run on the half-mile Speedway of Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Brown, in his familiar red #2 RB Graffix/ Bourque Transmission Modified survived a flurry of early race caution periods to eventually take the lead following a Turn One scramble on Lap Seven.

Hounded throughout the 20 lap contest by Darren Kearnan (#46 TTR Transport Chevy), Brown accepted the checkered flag by four car lengths in front of his perennial rival.

“Darren was running me so close, I didn’t know I could hold my breath for 13 laps,” laughed Brown.

Finishing in a lonely third place was the #61 of veteran Bill Pickford with Josh Gruntz (#31) and Rob Warnes (#95) rounding out the top five finishers.

With the victory, Brown pads his lead over Kearnan atop the points leaderboard as the Techtonix open wheeled series looks to the season finale on September 8 at the CTMP Speedway.

Points following Round Five (top 10):

1. #2 Dwight Brown (157) points 2. #46 Darren Kearnan (145), 3. #77 Brian Strawn/ Brad Stevenson (105), 4. #61 Bill Pickford (101), 5. #95 Rob Warnes (99), 6. #31 Josh Gruntz (95), 7. #90 Rick Warnes (88), 8. #65 Bill Burrows (61), 9. #62 Randy Hollingsworth (54), 10. #Y77 Craig Stevenson (50).
