@DumoulinDC • @NASCARHomeTrack • @weathertechca •Trois Riveries, QC (April 4, 216)- Since 2009 (incorporation of the business), Dumoulin Competition has had the objective to prepare its own cars. The collaboration with Scott Steckly (2012-2013) and King Autosport (2014-2015) has been very fruitful and enriching, notably helping win the series championship in 2014.
At the beginning of 2016, after insuring the project’s perennity and by capitalizing on the acquired experience, the decision to create an internal mechanical team became a no-brainer. With the acquisition of new cars (for both road and oval circuits) and equipment, everything is now in place to realize the full potential of resources and performances.
In collaboration with renowned crew chief Bill Burns, who has known success for over 20 years in the world of stock cars, the #47 Dodge WeatherTech Canada/ Groupe Bellemare driver will overcome new challenges within the Dumoulin Competition racing team.
Dumoulin Competition and the #47 Dodge WeatherTech Canada/ Groupe Bellemare crew will benefit, among other things, from Bill Burns’ impressive expertise. He who has already shared with the media that he “hates losing”, and who’s numerous victories acquired since entering the world of stock cars in 1992 can vouch for it. He has worked with multiple teams, including those of Don Thompson Jr, Kevin Dowler, Cole Pearn, Derek and Shaun Polack, and Andrew Ranger for multiple years.
“Bill Burns has won multiple championships and races. When the opportunity to recruit him presented itself, it was a no-brainer. We’re very happy to have him with us, it’s a real plus-value for me and for Dumoulin Competition,” shares an enthused Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.
Louis-Philippe Dumoulin and Bill Burns have known each other for several years. It was with him and Jimmy Brière that Louis-Philippe Dumoulin had won the title of rookie of the year in 2011.The synergy between the two quickly built up, and the #47 Dodge WeatherTech Canada/ Groupe Bellemare driver wanted to continue their professional collaboration. “In 2012, the partnership with WeatherTech Canada allowed us to get our cars prepared by a top of the line team and Scott Steckly already had a structured team in place. It was only a matter of time before we started working together again,” explains the 2014 champion of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series.
The two teammates are very experienced in the world of motorsports, and they’re very much hoping to use that expertise to make the 2016 season a success.
A new design for the #47 Dodge WeatherTech Canada/ Groupe Bellemare underlines the fifth season which is about to begin for the Trifluvien, who, beyond having been crowned champion in 2014, now has four victories, 24 top-5s, and 38 top-10s in 59 total starts in the NASCAR Pinty’s series.
“We can’t wait to see it on the track!” mentions Louis-Philippe Dumoulin. “The car’s new design was developed in collaboration with Les Enseignes F.X. Boisvert, the same Trois-Rivieres local company that created the lettering for the #47 WeatherTech Canada/ Groupe Bellemare team’s trailer. We’re very happy with the result.”
