WETASKIWIN, AB (July 28, 2018)- Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT) drivers Larry Jackson and Brett Taylor hit the track for round number seven of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series this past Saturday night at Edmonton International Raceway for 300 laps of action. When the checkered flag waved both drivers had claimed top-ten finishes.
Taylor piloting the #46 TCB Trailers Dodge and Jackson in the #1 CBRT/ENASCAR Ignite Series Dodge would start the feature event from the 13thand 14thpositions respectively. During the first 150 laps before a mandated caution period for teams to fuel the cars and change tires both drivers worked hard to move forward in the field.
CBRT General Manager Joey McColm was pleased with the progress of both runners.
“Brett struggled a bit with the car in practice but it was to help set them up for the expected track changes of the evening” explained McColm. “Larry was just running his usual steady self and both cars looked good,” he added.
Following service for fuel, tires and adjustments Taylor and Jackson resumed the battle. Both the #46 TCB Trailers Dodge and the #1 CBRT/ENASCAR Ignite Series drivers seemed to be battling for a good portion of the night. A late race caution would bunch the field up for one final restart, and an opportunity to move forward in the field.
As the field thundered back up to speed Jackson continued to climb from his starting position and would cross the finish line with a very positive eighth place finish, Taylor would be one spot behind him. Both drivers were pleased with their evenings work.
“That car and motor is just so reliable, doesn’t owe us a thing and we finish eighth, not bad at all,” said Larry Jackson.
“Another top-ten finish, the car is in good shape, a pretty positive night overall” said Brett Taylor.
McColm was also happy with the results. “This western trip is really hard on teams. You’ve got three full points races in four days and that takes a lot of preparation and execution. To wrap it up here with top tens for both cars really shows how well this team performing” he stated.
