OKLAHOMA CITY, OK- Blizzard Series veteran Donnie Wilson earned a successful start to his 2015 points season, tallying a pair of top-7 finishes on April 24th and 25th.
“We were good this weekend,” smiled Wilson. “With the level of competition that comes down here, it’s hard to be upset when you can run near the front all night and still have your car in one piece to load in the trailer”
Wilson raced to a 5th place finish at 5 Flags Speedway on Friday, before fashioning a 7th place result at Mobile International Speedway the following night.
“I’m happy with a pair of top-7s,” continued Wilson. “We learned enough this weekend that we can go home and do a little work to be even faster next month”
“The car was just a little off, both nights. This was a good start for us. The Blizzard Series is always on our schedule, because we know the quality of guys we’re up against when we come down here”
Wilson’s weekend – fresh off of a come-from-behind podium finish at Nashville two weeks ago – has the veteran energized for his next start at the end of May.
“We have almost a month off and then we head right back to Pensacola and Mobile on May 22nd and 23rd,” said Wilson. “That gives us plenty of time to get our car right for the next round. My guys have worked so hard on this program already this season – I can’t wait to give them some runs that they can be proud of.”
