(October 1, 2018), Hagersville, ON: Donald Theetge driver of the #24 Mercedes-Benz/Circuit Acura Chevrolet Camaro raced hard all day long toward a second place finish in the Pinty’s Fall Brawl at Jukasa Motor Speedway.
The #24 entry was quick from the start of practice on Saturday and required only a few minor tweeks to get it to Theetge’s satisfaction.
“The car was quite good in practice and I am happy with it. My team at 22 Racing has again brought me a fast car,” said Theetge.
Next up was qualifying and Theetge ran the fifth quickest time for the 200 lap Pinty’s Fall Brawl which would start later that evening.
“I know we have a car that will able to run up front on long green flag runs. We had to sacrifice a little speed in qualifying but starting in the third row on the inside is not a bad place to be,” said Theetge after qualifying.
Theetge ran in the top five for most of the 200 lap Pinty’s Fall Brawl and was battling for the lead over the final 30 laps but several late race cautions hurt his chances for the win and a second place finish was the result.
“I was looking for the win and I think we had a car to beat tonight,” said Theetge. “When we took the lead the car was getting better and better and getting more grip. We were really quick on long runs but we had a lot of cautions at the end that hurt us. Very proud of everyone at 22 Racing, Scott and Greg and all my team did another terrific job tonight.”
The Pinty’s Fall Brawl from Jukasa Motor Speedway will air on Saturday Oct. 6th at 1 p.m. on TSN and on Tuesday Oct. 30th at 10:30 p.m. on RDS2.
