Former NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Champion DJ Kennington is returning to a race track that he’s had a lot of success at recently. This weekend Kennington will once again pilot the #81 Northern Provincial Pipelines entry from Bill McAnally Racing in the season opening K & N Pro Series West event at Phoenix International Raceway.
Kennington and Bill McAnally Racing have proven to be strong contenders every time they partner together and this weekend should be no exception. “It’s so much fun working with the group at Bill McAnally Racing” said Kennington. “We had a top-ten finish in the spring race at Phoenix last year and we finished 11th in the fall on the new configuration, I know we’ll have a great race car again this weekend,” he added.
Once again this weekend Kennington will pilot the #81 Northern Provincial Pipeline race car with additional support coming from Kevin Dowler’s Apollo Motorsports and Kevin Clark Construction. “Dwight Kennedy from NPP and this same group of people supported us last year when we raced at PIR and I’m very happy to have them along again this year” stated Kennington.
As previously announced DJ Kennington will continue his longtime association with Castrol as primary sponsor of his NASCAR Canadian Tire Series entry. He will also soon be announcing a greater involvement this season with Mahindra Tractors. “Our team has had a great partnership in Canada with Mahindra Tractors for several years and we’ll be announcing some new initiatives for this year very soon. Combining their additional assistance with our great partnership with Castrol is going to be very good for our team” he added.
The team will arrive at Phoenix International Raceway on Thursday March 1st to begin preparation of the #81 Northern Provincial Pipeline entry for the weekend. Practice takes place Friday March 2nd at 9AM. Qualifying for the K & N Pro Series West event is Saturday March 3rd at 9:30AM and the Race is at 5:30PM. (All times local) SPEED will have tape delayed coverage of the race at a date and time to be determined. Please check local listings.
