NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL- Hot on the heels of an impressive top-10 finish on Night 6 of New Smyrna Speedway’s World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing, Denver Foran rode the momentum into Night 7 of competition, earning his second straight top-10 of the 8 night mini-season.
After a rain delay washed out qualifying, the field was set based on points position, slotting Foran in the 14th starting spot.
“With the way the car has been running these past 2 days, I’d much sooner have had a chance at time trialing”, Foran admitted on pit-road. “But that’s racing. I just appreciate the staff at the speedway waiting around as long as they did so that we got to race tonight”.
In their second appearance with their brand new Lefthander by Shear chassis, the team continued to showcase their collective improvement, jumping into the top-10 shortly after the drop of the green flag.
“We made some huge gains in practice for the second day in a row”, explained the 2013 Dakota Dunes Western Canada Super Late Model Series champion. “The car felt awesome right from the first lap. I can’t say enough about my team and the hard work they’ve done to turn this week around for us”.
Foran would remain in the top-10, sewing up his second top-10 in as many nights heading into Saturday’s 100-lap World Series finale.
“This week may not have started out the way we would have liked”, admitted Foran. “But we’re where we need to be now and I can’t wait for the 100-lapper on Saturday night. The finale is the race that every Super Late Model driver here wants to win, and we’ll be sure to bring our A-Game”.
