September 20, 2013- Delaware Speedway’s Championship Night, originally scheduled for tonight (Sept. 20) has been rescheduled to Friday, September 27 at 7:30 pm with special autograph session at 7:00 pm.

The rescheduling comes after a swell of fan and driver support to end the season on a high note and allow the drivers to settle the championships on the track rather than allowing Mother Nature to make the decision.

“Strong fan and driver support has allowed the speedway to reschedule this event,” said track PR director John Houghton. “The drivers and the speedway rely on the support of fans to make events like this possible and we hope that spectators will give this event and the drivers the support they deserve at the championships.”

Drivers are reminded that section 27.1 of the General Rules remains in effect. The section explains the procedures for entering a substitute driver into a speedway event should it be necessary as a result of the date change.

Tickets purchased for tonight’s event have been automatically transferred to next week’s racing. Tickets for the rescheduled date continue to be available online with no service fees or at the gate the night of the event.

With the date rescheduled the Friday program featuring Late Models, Super Stock, Trucks, & V8 Stock Muscle Cars will kick off a championship weekend on the Friday night at 7:30 pm. The weekend will also feature the GAW Recycling Enduro and Bone Stock Chaos Cars the following day on Saturday, September 28 at 2:00 pm.
