BOWMANVILLE, ON – Canadian Tire Motorsport Park has released its 2018 ‘major events’ schedule. Tickets are now on sale for all of these big race weekends.
Castrol presents the Victoria Day SpeedFest Weekend: May 18-20: Canadian Tire Motorsport Park’s 2018 major events kick off with the Victoria Day SpeedFest, featuring the NASCAR Pinty’s Series and the Pirelli World Challenge Series. Three Canadian series – the Canadian Touring Car Championship, the IMSA Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama and the Nissan Micra Cup Series.
VARAC Vintage Grand Prix: June 15-17: Give Dad a special treat this Father’s Day weekend – a trip to CTMP to see beautifully restored cars from the past 50-plus years of motorsports, racing on our world-famous Grand Prix circuit. The Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada (VARAC) invites all to celebrate the 39th Annual Vintage Racing Festival and watch three days of racing which will include special feature races for MG and Triumph, the VARAC Grand Prix and much more.
Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix: July 5-8: The Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix, features the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for exotic prototype and GT race cars, in their only north-of-the-border stop. A field of world-class drivers will race high-tech cars such as Acura, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lamborghini, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes, Nissan and Porsche. Also in action over our four-day event are the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and IMSA Prototype Challenge Series.
Superbike Doubleheader Weekend: August 10-12: Canada’s top motorcycle riders compete in a doubleheader points race for the national Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship. Titles will be decided during the Superbikes’ premier stop of the season, and racing in other national classes will include Pro Sport Bike, Amateur Superbike, Amateur Sport Bike, and the new Amateur Lightweight Production.
*NEW DATE* Chevrolet Silverado 250: August 24-26: NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series returns to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for its only Canadian appearance, the Chevrolet Silverado 250. Joining the trucks will be the NASCAR Pinty’s Series, the IMSA Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama, the Canadian Touring Car Championship, and the Nissan Micra Cup.
