@PtboSpeedway • Woodville, ON (October 4, 2015)- From his first days in the sport – where his Mini Stock machine carried a hand-written bumper sticker that read ‘small boy, big dreams’ – Cole McFadden has advanced through racing’s ranks.

At the age of 12, the Woodville, Ontario resident became the youngest driver ever start a feature race at Kawartha Speedway. The next season, he set a similar record at Peterborough Speedway when his first career main event win came before he turned 13. After a 2015 season where he finished 8th in the final INEX Ontario Legends point standings and also made selected starts in the Earl Ireland Auto Sales Late Model division, Cole McFadden is looking forward to taking the green flag in his first OSCAAR Modified race at Peterborough Speedway’s Autumn Colours Classic.

“It’s a deal that came together fairly quickly, but after a lot of hard work and long hours in the shop, we’ll be ready,” said McFadden. “I’ve grown-up in the sport and learn a lot in the six years since that first season. I’m excited to be able to run with the OSCAAR Mods in what will most likely be the biggest race of my career.”

Cole McFadden’s debut in the 23rd Annual Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing will come at the controls of a Lefthander Chassis, with a General Motors crate powerplant under the hood. The car will carry sponsorship from Grassroots Racing, Link Climate Care, C & S Vinyl Designs and Manilla Chip Truck. Currently studying Mechanical Engineering at Georgian College, McFadden says picking a car number for his high-profile introduction was an easy decision.

“I must’ve been about six years old when my father told me he was going to run a Modified at Mosport Speedway,” recalls McFadden. “He asked what I thought he should use as a number and with any hesitation, I told him ’20’. My favourite NASCAR driver has always been Tony Stewart and at the time, he was running the bright orange Home Depot car. I’ve used that number ever since.”

Getting the car ready in the garage and during the weekend at the track, the 18 year old’s machine will be maintained with help from his father Andrew McFadden as crew chief. Crew help will come from his mother, Kim McFadden, Mark Argue, Rick Eades, Casey Cameron and his sister Karli McFadden. Special thanks as well to Grisdale Racing Products and Dan Price Racing for their immense help.

Away from the track, Cole McFadden – who says he loves going as fast as he can on the track and getting close to other cars – enjoys street cars. He likes getting a look at the different modifications others have made on their projects and attending car shows and seeing what others have built. He’d like to race at Bristol Motor Speedway because it’s small, with lots of banking and hopes to someday attend a show at Daytona.

A very talented and determined young racer – who recorded a handful of Top 5 and twice as many top 10 finishes in a dozen 2015 starts – he’ll likely achieve anything he sets his mind to; but right now, Cole McFadden’s immediate focus is a strong run in the OSCAAR Modified division at Peterborough Speedway’s Autumn Colours Classic.
