Cole Ledson Primed For Anderson Motor Speedway Debut And Legends Car Nationals

COOKSTOWN, ON- Following a breakout season spent with the Ontario Legends Series, rising star Cole Ledson will head to South Carolina's Anderson Motor Speedway this weekend to compete in the Young Lions portion of the 2015 Legends Car Nationals.

"There aren't many opportunities like this in which you can race against this level of competition in the same place at the same time," says Cole. "It's a chance to close out our season in a big way. I'm really looking forward to seeing where we stack up against this teams from all over North America"

The three day event, running from November 12th to November 14th, will pit Ledson against the very best rising stars in the Legends Car division.

"Racing with a field as tight as this means that every lap and every position just means a little bit more," says the Cookstown, ON driver. "You can't take a lap off for fear of getting shuffled backwards. Every driver there is going to be on their A Game. This is the event that you get to show the whole industry just what you're capable of"

When asked about the high-speed, high-banked facility, Ledson explains that while this weekend will be his first appearance at the South Carolina speedplant, he knows how challenging Anderson can be.

"This'll be my first time racing at Anderson, but everyone tells me it's incredibly fast," notes the soft-spoken wheelman. "It's the kind of speedway where its reputation sort of precedes it. It will beat you up if you let it - and that can cost a team a ton of money if you're not careful - so, it's our job to be careful. Things happen quickly there, and you have to make sure you're thinking two or three moves ahead or else you can get caught somewhere that you really don’t want to be"

"When you look at the guys that are coming to run the Young Lions class, I'm not sure you could put together a better field anywhere in the country," continues Ledson. "Our qualifying effort is going to be real important, because we don't want to put ourselves behind the eightball early. This isn't the field that we want to be stuck starting at the back in"

Older brother Nick Ledson will miss the event due to work commitments, but sees the 'Nationals' as a chance for Cole to establish himself as one of the Young Lions' division's 'can't miss' prospects.

"As much as it's going to suck sitting this one out, I'm going to be keeping up to date on everything from home," smiles the three-time Ontario Legends Series champion. "This is the perfect chance for Cole to come out and make a name for himself. He's grown so much as a competitor in the last year and a bit that I really think he has the ability to surprise some people this weekend."
