Antigonish, NS, June 15, 2013) Donald Chisholm and John Flemming swapped the lead over a dozen times before Chisholm’s Keltic Ford Fusion took the lead for the final time on lap 148 to win for the fourth time at his home track at the Ron MacGillivray Chevrolet Buick GMC 150 at Riverside International Speedway on Saturday night.
Flemming ended up settling for second place at the end of this edge of your seat thriller.
Finishing out the podium, and rounding out the top five, were Charlottetown, PE’s Darren MacKinnon, Brudenell, PE’s Jonathan Hicken, and Brad Eddy of Lower Sackville, NS respectively.
Rainy weather shortened the day’s schedule and the Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials and King Freight Lines Dash For The Pole were not contested. The starting lineup was determined by three Dartmouth Dodge Heat Races which were won by George Koszkulics (New Glasgow, NS), Greg Proude (Springvale, PE), and Donald Chisholm.
Chisholm took home the Linde Most Laps Led after leading 73 laps. MacKinnon’s third place finish after starting 16th on the grid gave him the Absolute Traffic Services Hard Charger Award in a race slowed by five cautions.
