AJAX, ON (April 23, 2019)- Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT) has been hard at work during the off-season preparing for the 2019 NASCAR Pinty’s Series. Following the move into a brand new race shop CBRT is now ready to take the next step forward in growth and development. General Manager Joey McColm is pleased to announce that veteran racer Anthony Simone will drive the #1 Silverline Tools Dodge Challenger, supported by MOPAR, with the Mopar M1 engine competing for the 2019 Pinty’s Series championship.

“We couldn’t be happier to join Team Mopar,” said McColm who will also act as Crew Chief for Simone. “We’ve monitored the development of this engine for the last several years, the performance is there, it’s a proven winner. DJK Racing will be preparing the motors so when the opportunity came to be part of the family we jumped at it”.

Joining CBRT as the primary partner for this season is Silverline Tools.

“This partnership is something we’ve been working on for a while,” said McColm. “It’s another step in growth and commitment to work with great partners to build a team that races up front each weekend. And I love the cool looking car design that Jerry Hall put together for us”.

The addition of proven veteran racer Anthony Simone is another reason for CBRT fans to be excited about the upcoming campaign.

“Anthony is the complete package as a driver,” stated McColm. “He’s able to get the job done on road and street courses plus ovals. He’s had some impressive showings in the Prototype series and we’re thrilled to have him join our group” he added.

Having taken positive strides last season the CBRT group were more determined than ever to keep the momentum going in 2019.

“Moving to the new shop where Wight Motorsports can prepare our cars, the new motor program and having Anthony with us all adds up to a winning combination” said McColm.

Rookie of the year for 2018 Brett Taylor will also be returning to the CBRT family for the upcoming season. “It was great to work with Brett last season and we’re happy to have him under the umbrella again this season,” said McColm.

The new season will be here soon and there is still plenty of work ahead for CBRT to accomplish.

“We’ve got cars that will be finished up in the weeks ahead and then we’d like to get some testing done before the season opener” stated McColm. “We’re putting together our crew now and have everyone on top of their game for the start of the season”.

The NASCAR Pinty’s Series consists of 13 races on ovals, road and street courses across Canada. The season opens with the Victoria Day Speedfest weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park May 19th.
