PETERBOROUGH, ON (August 27, 2021)- Fans of provincial Legends Car action will have something to look forward to this weekend, as Peterborough Speedway hosts the Canadian Legend Car Asphalt Nationals, Saturday and Sunday August 28 and 29.
Featuring drivers and teams from the Ontario Legends Series, along with some special guests, the two-day affair will feature qualifying heats used to determine the starting line-up for Saturday night’s 35-lap main event. Sunday afternoon’s action kicks-off with a 30-lap dash with a starting grid determined by random draw. The finishing rundown from the initial feature and the dash will be used to set the line-up for the 40-lap finale that will crown the overall champion.
“It’ll be an exciting weekend of action,” said Ontario Legends Series spokesperson Jeff Drimmie. “Drivers from the Masters, Pro and Semi-Pro divisions will be looking for bragging rights to take away from the event at the highly competitive weekend. Our teams are quite familiar with the lay of the land at Peterborough, but there is always a chance that an invader could pull-off an upset win.”
In addition to the Canadian Legend Car Asphalt Nationals, Canada’s Toughest 1/3-Mile Oval will host some exciting racing during the weekend. The Saturday night show includes the home track Mini Stock, Super Stock and Ontario Outlaw Super Late Models while on Sunday afternoon, there will be a 50-lap Bone Stock feature, along with Outlaw Midgets and OSCAAR Hot Rods.
