STROUD, ON (August 10, 2017) – After going through a month of struggles, Cameron McGlashan found the glimpse of hope that he was looking for, posting a top-five finish on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
McGlashan showed speed right from the start of the night, posting a victory in first heat, followed by a third-place finish in the second qualifier.
Starting third in the 25-lap feature, he would battle side-by-side for Randi Seguin for second, taking over the top spot on Lap 3. He was then able to quickly track down race leader Branden Bullen, putting himself right on the bumper off the No. 66. He would try high and low to make the pass, but was blocked at each opportunity. Ultimately, their battle allowed the fast cars behind them to also catch up quickly, with McGlashan coming out on the losing end as he fell back to fourth by the 12th lap.
He would then fall back another spot to fifth at the halfway mark, before beginning his move back forward with a pass for fourth with 10 laps to go. Ultimately, knee-deep in lap traffic, he was unable to get back by the drivers ahead of him, crossing the finish line in fourth.
On Sunday, he made the trip to Sauble Speedway and showed speed through the early stages, though saw his night end early as a result of a broken transmission.
McGlashan Motorsports are set to compete at Sunset Speedway on Saturday, August 12 as part of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series competition. It is a fan appreciation night, so be sure to show up early and meet Cameron before the night’s racing action.
