Stroud, ON (May 16, 2017)- After having to start deep in the field for the 25-lap feature, Cameron McGlashan put on a show making his way through to score a top-10 finish on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
Coming into the night tied for the points lead, he was quick in his heats, finishing second to last week’s feature winner Andy Kamrath in the first one, before winning the second.
Ultimately, the re-draw for the features did not go as he would’ve intended as he’d have to start behind most of the quickest cars in the division in 17th. He didn’t let it faze him, though, beginning to make ground immediately to be running 14th as of the first caution at Lap 4. He’d continue passing cars, running eighth as of Lap 13.
Making his way through lap traffic, he was unable to make up much more ground, crossing the finish line in the seventh position.
Kicking off the season with a runner-up and this drive through the field certainly has McGlashan Motorsports heading into the third and fourth points event of 2017 on Saturday, May 27 and Sunday, May 28. The Sunday show, set to kick off at 3pm EST, will serve as a make-up for the rain-out earlier this season.
