CALGARY, AB – Cameron Hayley of Calgary, Alberta announced his intention to take part in two NASCAR Canadian Tire Series races in 2013. The 16 year-old won the inaugural ‘Battle at the Beach’ event at Daytona International Speedway in February. It was the first time a Canadian had ever won a NASCAR sanctioned event at Daytona.
Hayley is in his second full time season with the NASCAR K&N Pro Series in the USA. He is turning a lot of heads down south not only because of his young age or having been the youngest to race at this level, but because he is just so talented! When he entered his first NASCAR K&N Pro race he finished an astounding second.
Hayley followed up his Daytona win with a near victory, in March, at Phoenix International Raceway. Cleary one of the sport’s rising stars, Hayley has been admitted to the sanctioning body’s “NASCAR Next Nine” program.
Hayley will take place in races at ernon, BC’s Motoplex on July 13 and at Saskatoon, SK’s Auto Clearing Motor Speedway on July 17. His cars will be prepared and supplied by two-time and current NASCAR Canadian Tire Series champ DJ Kennington.
Discussing his NCATS announcement, Hayley said, “I can’t wait to get back and race in my home country with the top drivers, they are good and it’s always a very exciting and competitive series! Our Canadian fans have been so supportive so it will be good to see them again too. Add to that one of our sponsors “Cabinets by Hayley” is a Canadian company so it’s all just a win-win and I can’t wait!”
