BRAMPTON, ON- Fresh off of back-to-back top-6 finishes, Billy ‘Z3’ Zardo is eagerly anticipating his return to competition in Sunset Speedway’s Limited Late Model division.
“Our program is working as good as it has all season, I’ve been counting the hours until I could get back on track”, smiles Zardo.
“We battled with this car for the entire first half of the season, and we’ve finally hit on something. It’s a blast to drive, now. I feel as though we’ve got something for any driver on this roster”
The third-generation star currently sits tied for 6th in championship points, with 5 markers separating himself from the top-5.
“I would love so badly to get this team to the top-5 heading into the final quarter of the season”, says Zardo. “These guys work so hard to give me a good piece, I want to reward them for their hard work. We need a big weekend”
With two points paying events in a single weekend, it’s clear that equipment preservation will play a key role in a team’s success.
“I just want to be able to load the car on Saturday with everything in one piece”, chuckles Zardo.
“It’s a fine line we’re going to have to walk this weekend. You want to push your car and earn as many spots as you can, because the points are so tight right now. But, you don’t want to use your stuff up and do damage that you might not be able to fix overnight”
Billy and the rest of the Z Team will be in action Saturday and Sunday night at Sunset Speedway, with a pair of 50-lap events paying full points towards the 2014 Ltd. Late Model championship. Gate times and ticket prices can be found at www.SunsetSpeedway.ca.
Zardo’s 2014 campaign is made possible thanks to Holmes On Homes, National Exhaust, Better Contracting and Hassell Automotive.
