Hailing from Claredon Hills, Illinois, 15 year old Jack Mitchell Jr. will make his Canadian debut at the season opener of the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship held at the newly renamed Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (formerly Mosport) May 4-6, 2012.
Despite his young age, Jack already has a diverse background in motorsports, with time spent in indoor and outdoor karts, Spec Miata, the Skip Barber MX5 Series as well as the Skip Barber Formula Car Series. In 2011, Jack finished the Skip Barber Summer Series with 4 wins and 8 podium finishes. To date, the young driver continues to develop, participating in the Skip Barber 2012 Winter Series where he has accumulated 2 race wins and 4 podium finishes (in six races). The karting standout and rising star is managed by Exclusive Management Inc.
“We are very pleased to welcome Jack to our team and look forward a successful season with him. We will do our best to continue our run of Rookie of the Year titles and race wins as well. We are also excited about our new relationship with Michael Duncalfe and his company Exclusive
Management Inc. Both our companies strive for the same things, to help develop young talent and give them all the tools necessary to compete to
the best of their ability, ” comments team principal Brian Graham.
“I am really looking forward to racing in the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship with Brian Graham Racing. The team has a long history of success in this series and I know that this is a great opportunity for me to continue to gain experience and develop and refine my race craft. I look forward to meeting the team and testing the F1600 cars in April. Both Michael Duncalfe (Exclusive Management Inc.) and I are confident that Brain Graham Racing Team Grote provides the support, equipment and best opportunities for me to not only vie for the championship, but also for Rookie of the year,” said BGR Driver Jack Mitchell Jr.
“Exclusive Management Inc. is proud to be working with Brian Graham Racing for the 2012 season and hopefully beyond. We are confident that Brian and his team provide the athletes with the best equipment and skills for them to achieve success – a natural fit for us and for Jack. The upcoming season will without a doubt prove to be exciting for all involved,” said Exclusive Management Inc. President and CEO, Michael Duncalfe.
The 14 race schedule for the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship will see the drivers compete at Ontario’s 3 premier tracks, Shannonville Motorsports
Park, Calabogie Motorsports Park, and the world renown Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. An additional stop will be the support race at the
Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal where BGR Team Grote are the defending Champions.
Pre-season testing will commence in April with 4 days scheduled to get the team drivers acclimated to the new series tires and for some the new
world of F1600.
BGR Team Grote has put more drivers in the winners circle than any other team in OFFC history and continues to strive to provide the perfect
environment for karters to make the transition to the open wheel ranks. The winners of the past 6 consecutive years of Rookie of the Year will be
looking to continue that tradition this season. To learn more about the team visit www.briangrahamracing.com
