July 25, 2013- After a month’s break from racing, BGR Team Grote heads to CTMP with one goal in mind, win. With two successful tests during the break and some updates to the cars the team is confident it will build on their championship lead.
Zacharie Robichon will be joined by Jesse Lazare who spent the 2012 season with BGR and won his share of races before moving up to the USF2000 ranks. He returns to the seat of his Door Doctor Piper DF5/Honda and joins current championship leader Robichon in his similar machine who is supported by his new partners Aqua Hydrate.
Both young drivers have also been nominated as finalist for the Team Canada Scholarship. Marc Bishara is also back under the BGR awning and will be looking to join his teammates as they fight for the win.
“We have had a couple of very good tests during the break and believe we have made some improvements to the cars. We were giving up some straight line speed that hindered the cars when at CTMP last month in the heat. That has now been addressed and we expect to be able to give our drivers the tools they need to fight for the win. We also have our long time supporters Grote Manufacturing attending this weekend and want to put them in the winners circle. Definitely a big weekend for us!” comments team owner Brian Graham.
The action gets underway Friday with a promoters test day then the BARC Canadian Touring Races kick off Saturday morning with the F1600 cars first out at 830am for the opening practice.
BGR Team Grote has put more drivers in the winners circle than any other team in OFFC history and continues to strive to provide the perfect environment for karters to make the transition to the open wheel ranks. The winners of the past seven consecutive years of Rookie of the Year will be looking to continue that tradition this season.
