June 3, 2013- Zacharie Robichon swept the weekend at Shannonville Motorsport Park earning two pole positions and two wins and now leads the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship. Jason Bedasse also had a productive weekend with a pair of third place finishes in this, his rookie season.
Robichon aboard his #3 Piper DF5/Honda set the pace right from the beginning of the test day and kept it up for the full 3 day schedule. Robichon now adds his name to the long list of winners who have piloted BGR Team Grote cars to victory circle.
“The weekend couldn’t have gone better, Zacharie is really gelling with the team and will be more eager now to keep his podium steak going and get back on the top step. Jason continues to learn and is making steady progress. Seat time is what he needs, and with next week’s trip to Montreal for the support event at the Formula One event, he will be gaining more experience and that will help him keep developing.” comments team owner Brian Graham.
With little time to rest the team is busy preparing four cars for the trip to the Montreal F1 support event with the Quebec based Formula Tour Series.
Having won the Montreal event in the past, the team is anxious to try to bring home the winner’s trophy again.
Scott Hargrove, a winner in the opening round of the season, will be back, alongside Dalton Kellett and Jason Bedasse, with Marc Bishara making his season debut as well.
BGR Team Grote has put more drivers in the winners circle than any other team in OFFC history and continues to strive to provide the perfect environment for karters to make the transition to the open wheel ranks. The winners of the past 7 consecutive years of Rookie of the Year will be looking to continue that tradition this season.
