@PrimeTimeStade • @PtboSpeedway • CHESLEY, ON- Sauble Speedway up-and-comer Josh Stade will make his first career Autumn Colours Classic appearance this weekend, as his Stade Motorsports squad rolls into Peterborough Speedway on October 10th, 11th and 12th set to battle the very best that the Ltd. Late Model division has to offer.
“Autumn Colours has been at the top of our list for just about as long as we’ve been racing Late Models,” admits Stade. “We’ve always wanted to be a part of the event, but circumstances never seemed quite right. This year, everything came together perfectly. I can’t wait to roll into Peterborough.”
“Every single top team in the province will be there this weekend,” continues Stade. “That’s the ultimate motivator. The competition doesn’t get any better than at ‘the Classic.'”
Though based out of Sauble Speedway, Stade has done a marketable job establishing himself away from his home base this season. Most recently, ‘Prime Time’ notched a 9th place finish in a wildly competitive field at Sunset Speedway’s ‘Velocity 250’ event on September 28th.
“Our touring program is as good as it’s ever been,” explains the second-generation competitor. “We’ve made every attempt to get our legs under us this year, and our results when racing outside of Sauble are really, really encouraging.”
“We’ve raced against some of the best in the division this year, and we haven’t looked out of place at all.”
When asked his thoughts on the upcoming 3-day mega-show, Stade admits he’s uncertain of what to expect.
“I’m not exactly sure what’s going to happen. The track has a tonne of character, and I’ve been told it can be difficult to make a pass at times, but that’s what makes it that much more interesting.”
“Any time we get to race at a new speedway, it’s exciting,” continues Stade. “The fact that it’s at the biggest event of the season makes it even better. I think, if we can nail the setup and keep out of the craziness, we’ll have enough for a top-10 finish this weekend.”
“Sunset was exactly the kind of run that we needed to kick off the Playoff Season. We finished our season strong at Sauble, and to get a top-10 at the Velocity just reaffirmed that we’re ready to take that next step as a team. I can’t wait to see what we can put together at ‘the Classic.'”
