Merlin, ON (August 19, 2017)- Saturday night was the 11th Annual Rick Haskell West Side Performance Plus Late Model Memorial Race. Mike Lewis #05 “was lost for words” in the Winner’s Circle surrounded by the Haskell Family. After a “crazy day of body work, car setup and final adjustments”, Lewis and his crew were able to fine-tune a setup which gave him his first memorial trophy win.
“My hats off to Mikey, he was fast tonight, he’s taken a lot of stuff this year, I’m happy for him”, Gregg Haskell RH21 and son of Rick Haskell said of the feature winner.
Lewis thanked his crew, family and fans for supporting him. Gregg Haskell RH21 brought home second and Jason Haskell RH94 brought home third.
Marshall Hereygers #31 brought home another Chatham Pro Shop Mini Mods Feature Win. After an intense race battle with Tim MacKenzie #81, Hereygers collected another feature win. Before leaving to celebrate, Hereygers thanked his crew, family and sponsors. Tim MacKenzie #81 brought home second and Dylan Wolters #54 brought home third.
It was a birthday Schinkels Gourmet Meat Modified Feature Win for Joey Brusseau #47B.
“I can’t thank my crew members enough,” an excited Brousseau said.
Brousseau also thanked his family and fans for supporting him throughout the season. Drew Smith #86 brought home second and Louis Clements #3C brought home third.
Brad Bloomfield #11 was the Sun Parlour Trailer Sport Stock Feature Winner Saturday night. After a fast race and finding the right grip on the track, Bloomfield was able to bring home another feature win of the season. Bloomfield thanked his family, friends and sponsors. Eren Vanderiviere #67 brought home second and Willie Vyse #2 brought home third.
“Wow, all I can say is Wow!”, Cody Willson #22 said after winning the Auto Tech Sales and Service Bomber Feature Race.
Starting at the front, Willson maintained his lead and is hopeful for a September Bomber Championship Trophy win. Nick Garvin was involved in a roll over caution while driving the #00 Morgan Dale car during the Bomber Feature. Dale noted that Garvin walked away from the incident without injury. Carter Coles #2EZ brought home second and Kyle Gill #87 brought home third.
