CHESLEY, ON- Fresh off of a podium finish in weekly Limited Late Model competition at Sauble Speedway on May 16th, second-generation star Josh Stade will head to Sunset Speedway this Saturday for the inaugural APC United Late Model Series presented by Grisdale Racing Products event.
Stade last appeared at Sunset on May 2nd, when he earned his first ever victory at the Innisfil, ON oval in his familiar Ltd. Late Model ride. For Saturday’s event, ‘Prime Time’ will be rolling out the team’s newly purchased Pro Late Model, though Stade is hopeful that the results will be similar.
“We were so good at Sunset the last time we were there – I can’t help but count the hours until Saturday,” smiles Stade. “We’ve been so close to having a breakout performance at Sunset, it was such an amazing feeling to finally get to victory lane”
“Sunset brings out the very best competitors – no matter what division is racing there,” continues Stade. “The fact that this Saturday is the first ever event for the tour tells me that every driver in the pit area is going to be on their A-Game”
The Stade Motorsports team will once again have setup guru Brian MacDonald in their pit, as they work to recreate their feature win from earlier this month.
“Brian has been poring over setup ideas since we last left Sunset,” explains the up-and-comer. “We’ll have something ready for Saturday that I think should put us in contention. We learned a lot about the track on May 2nd – it gave us a huge leg up on what to expect when we come down with the Pro Late Model”
With intentions of following the upstart APC Series fulltime in 2015, Stade is well aware of how important a strong start will be for his team.
“The team that comes away with the win on Saturday is going to have a lot of momentum behind them for the rest of the tour,” says ‘Prime Time’. “Eight races is not a long schedule, every win is incredibly valuable”
“Sunset has turned into one of our stronger tracks – it’s not an option for us to not bring home a good performance. This is a big race for us, and we’re definitely not taking it lightly.”
