DORCHESTER, ON – Two weeks removed from Dwayne Baker’s triumph in the first ever APC United Late Model Series presented by Grisdale Racing Products event on May 23rd at Sunset Speedway, the tour is ready for Round 2 of the 2015 season – as Flamboro Speedway will play host to the ‘Meineke 100’ on June 6th.
“This is arguably the best Pro Late Model roster in Ontario,” says event sponsor – and Car Owner – Dave Wood. “It’s a great pleasure to be able to sponsor a race on this tour. I have a feeling this race will be even more exciting than the last”
“It’s a phenomenal series – and Meineke is very excited to be a part of it,” adds Wood.
“Flamboro is a tough place to get a handle on,” says Round 1 winner Dwayne Baker. “It can be tough on equipment if you aren’t careful. Qualifying is going to be important – because it’s hard to pass and you don’t want to be the guy that has to come through the field”
The 100-lap event will pit Baker against a number of drivers with extensive Flamboro Speedway experience, including reigning Grisdale Triple Crown champion Matt Pritiko.
“Flamboro has quickly become one of my favourite tracks,” explains Pritiko. “We’ve had a lot of success there in a short amount of time – and I’m hoping we can draw on some of our past experiences when we unload on Saturday”
“We ran in the top-10 at Sunset, but we’ve worked nonstop on this car since then,” continues Pritiko. “I think Flamboro will provide us with the perfect opportunity to assert ourselves as contenders on the tour”
Reigning Flamboro Speedway champion Dale Shaw will enter Round 2 eager to follow up on a strong 7th place finish at Sunset.
“This season, our car seems to be turning as well as it ever has at Flamboro,” says the third-generation star. “I’m excited to see how it will hold up over 100-laps. Qualifying is going to be key. We need to make it into the top-10 redraw if we want to make the middle portion of the race easier on ourselves”
