STAYNER, ON- Fresh off of a top-5 performance in ARCA/CRA Super Series competition at Anderson Speedway in Indiana, Brandon Watson has filed entry for May 10th’s APC 100 Pro Late Model event at Sunset Speedway.
“We haven’t raced in front of a local crowd since last October. So it’s going to be nice being back with our fans and supporters”, said Watson.
The 100-lap event has drawn interest from across Ontario, with defending Delaware champion Jamie Cox, Flamboro legend Jason Shaw and even Sunset promoter Mark Dilley filing entry.
“This event has the feel of an all-star race”, offered the third-generation driver. “There’s going to be accomplished guys from across Ontario. It’s not going to be easy, that’s for sure”
A former Sunset regular, Watson will draw from experience when he returns to the Innisfil, ON 1/3 mile to battle his former peers.
“Sunset’s been good to us”, explains Watson. “It’s one of my favourite places to race. We’ve won there before in a Pro Late Model, but it’s been a while since we’ve raced anything other than our Super [Late Model] there. I’m excited to see if our setup still works”
Brandon’s 2014 season is made possible thanks to support from Shear Metal Products, Royal Distributing, Barrie Frame & Alignment, The Smart Exchange and Knightworks Designs. Additional packages are still available.
Fans can keep up with Brandon via his Twitter account @BrandonWatson15 and his brand new Brandon Watson Racing Facebook page.
The $5,000 to win event is scheduled for Saturday May 10th at 5:00pm, with a rain date of Sunday May 11th. Gate times and ticket prices can be found at www.SunsetSpeedway.ca.
