September 6, 2014.  Joey McColm and Canada’s Best Racing Team welcomed PartSource and the Toronto Maple Leafs back aboard the #25 CBRT car for round number ten of the NASCAR Canadian Tire series at Barrie Speedway just north of Barrie, ON this past weekend.  Just as it was the week before they were great combination as McColm collected another strong race result.

The #25 PartSource/Toronto Maple Leafs car was not as good as the team expected during the practice sessions and the “Pacmen” pit crew worked to improve the handling during the day.

“We were a little better for qualifying but felt there was still more improvement needed for the race” said McColm.

Lining up ninth for the 300 lap event McColm wanted to be patient in the early stages.

“We knew how we wanted to adjust the car during the race and that it should make us better for the late stages but we had to be patient in the first half” explained McColm.

With a long green flag run to start the race and the #25 PartSource/Toronto Maple Leaf car not at peak performance McColm went down a lap to the leaders.

“It didn’t bother us too much because we expected to have a chance to get back on the lead lap and have a better race car at the end” stated McColm.

As the race progressed and the “Pacmen” pit crew serviced the car and made adjustments during scheduled pit stops McColm noticed a big difference in performance.

“The car was better as we’d expected and we got our lap back and we were right back in it” said the driver.

Running in the top five through the late stages of the race McColm was pushing the #25 PartSource/Toronto Maple Leaf car and battling for more positions when a late caution period came setting up a green, white, checkered finish to the race.  It was an all-out battle over the final two laps and McColm would cross the finish line in sixth position, his fifth top ten result of the season.

“We might have had a chance for more if we restarted on the outside line that final time, but it’s still another really good result.  Great job by the “Pacmen” crew today, I’m so happy for PartSource and the Toronto Maple Leafs and I can’t wait to get back out one more time to wrap up the season” said McColm.

With his sixth place result at Barrie Joey McColm sits eighth in the overall championship standings.
