Saint-Eustache, QC, (June 26, 2019) – The Bumper to Bumper team is heading to the Autodrome Chaudière this Saturday, June 29, to compete in the 300-lap Budweiser 300. It will be the third round of the NASCAR Pinty’s series and also the first of three events in Québec.
Last year, the Vallée-Jonction oval track did not suite Lacroix, who had experienced alternator problems, preventing car # 74 from finishing the race.
“The Autodrome Chaudière is one of the tracks where we have a lot of difficulties, admits Lacroix. It’s probably my worst track. Unlike other events, we do not necessarily aim for victory, but a Top 5. However, we will rejoice if we finish on the podium, and we will be satisfied if we finish in the Top 10. “
Last week, the Bumper to Bumper team went to try the #74 Bumper to Bumper/ Total / Gates / PFC Brakes Dodge on the quarter mile ring in preparation for Saturday’s race. “We have improved a lot in the last few years. My goal for this race will be to score as many points as possible without having any incidents. I will have to play my cards well. “
It will be a significant event for Kevin Lacroix who is currently 2nd in the Drivers’ Championship, only 1 point away from the leader. If he does not claim a win this weekend, Lacroix’s primary goal is to stay in the championship race.
The green flag should be dropped at around 5:30 p.m. Last year, the 300 laps event did not fully take place as the race was interrupted by rain with 220 laps completed. This year again, rain could join the party… to be continued!
