@Johnsonville • @JohnsonvilleCA • #NASCAR • #NPS – Adam Martin takes a big step in his racing progression this Saturday when the Ayr teenager competes in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series (NPS) event as part of the Toronto Indy weekend. Martin makes his third career NPS start Saturday, but the week of activities will test his focus and determination.

Martin drives the Johnsonville-sponsored #9 entry, and on top of competing against some of the best racers in Canada he will be part of Johnsonville’s impressive marketing plans.

“I’m excited to compete on the biggest stage of my career so far,” said Martin. “We will help Johnsonville Sausage promote its brand, and we will be raising funds and awareness for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, so it will be a hectic weekend for sure.”

Johnsonville is bringing the world’s biggest grill to the event, and Martin’s car will be displayed throughout the weekend. Proceeds from Johnsonville’s Big Taste Grill will be donated to Make-a-Wish Foundation.

“It’s a privilege to use our race team to support a great cause,” said Martin. “I have a great team, so I know the race car will be well prepared once it’s time to hit the track.

Martin finished 4th in his series debut at Sunset Speedway, and he followed that with a 15th place result on the road course at circuit ICAR.

“We made progress every time on the track at ICAR,” said Martin. “The road racing talent in this series is huge, so to improve each time out and finish 15th was a real confidence builder.”

Martin and several other drivers have never raced on the Toronto Indy course, and it’s NASCAR’s first event as part of the Honda Indy Toronto since 2011. “It will be an exciting weekend for fans and our series.”

Martin is supported by Johnsonville Sausage, Olivier’s Chocolates and Candies, Reser’s Fine Foods, Secure Drive, STIHL Canada, Little Potato Company and Legacy Auto Leasing as sponsors. –
