(Halifax, NS. March 18, 2013) Scotia Speedworld is proud to announce that ACE Lumbermart has once again partnered with “Atlantic Canada’s Action Centre” to sponsor the ACE Lumbermart Thunder and Lightning divisions for the 2013 season. This is the third year of a partnership which sees ACE Lumbermart sponsor the two popular four cylinder classes.

The ACE Lumbermart Thunder and Lightning divisions are comprised of vehicles you see on the street with safety modifications for the race track. The ACE Lumbermart Thunder division is comprised of Honda and Volkswagen models while the balance of the four cylinder race cars at Scotia Speedworld compete in the ACE Lumbermart Lightning class. Drivers in these classes are billed as “the best four cylinder drivers in Atlantic Canada.”

“We had a great time at the track in 2012 and are looking forward to another great year as sponsors of the Thunder and Lightning series cars”, said Fred O’Hearn, President of Ace Lumbermart. “We especially enjoyed attending the awards banquet in Truro and meeting all the drivers, owners and Scotia Speedworld crew who make it all happen every week. This is the third year for Ace Lumbermart and we have always had a blast at the track!  We brought our very own vintage 1949 Ford F6 Fire Truck out last year and filled it with kids and did some laps, everyone had fun – especially us! See you again in 2013 and watch for Woody the Fire Truck on the oval!”

“Our Thunder and Lightning drivers are truly some of the best in the region at what they do and ACE Lumbermart is the best in their industry, so it is a perfect partnership for us.” Said Ken Cunning, General Manager of Scotia Speedworld.

ACE Lumbermart, “The Helpful Place”, has two convenient locations to serve you: 751 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (Tel 477-6500) or 15 Wright Avenue, Burnside, Dartmouth (Tel 468-7772). Out of town customers can call 1 800 922 8204

The ACE Lumbermart Thunder and Lightning drivers hit the track for the first time in 2013 on Sunday, May 26th for the Weekly Racing Series Season Opener.  For ticket information or a complete schedule for the upcoming season of stock car racing visit www.ScotiaSpeedworld.ca.
