Grand Bend, ON (July 13, 2017)- Grand Bend Speedway’s main event of 2017 is the annual Bash at the Beach.
Lucas Oil Can Am Midgets
For the third consecutive year, the headlining event will be the Lucas Oil Can Am Midgets who are will be making their one and only appearance at the ¼-mile.
In 2016, former Grand Bend weekly series runner James Marche won his first ever Can Am Midget feature event. What made the race most exciting was the fact that it went from green to checkers in without a caution flag. The race took less than five minutes. The Winged Warriors of the Lucas Oil Can Am midgets can make laps around Grand Bend in a shade over 11 seconds. The stars of the tour look forward to their annual visit because the track is such a challenge.
London Drive Systems 4Funs
The Co-Headline event is that of the 4Fun division. Already a posted purse that offers the winner of the 50 lap event a $500 prize, the speedway is offering up a $200 Bounty on Dutton ON driver Steve Lovie. Lovie who has won the previous three events has dominated thus far and competitors are itching for chance to take a stab at the driver of the #1 car. Another young upstart also stepped up to offer an addition $100 if the race can attract over 20 teams. If a driver can successfully defeat Steve Lovie, they can take home a potential $800 in winnings for their efforts. The list of pre-registered drivers is creeping up.

The Mini Truck Division rolls back in to Grand Bend Speedway for the second time this year. Hayden Sim and Chris Pallister have already taken checkered flags in the twin 25’s format. The brothers Pirie, Cole and Tanner will likely be fighting for the win and there has been a resurgence of sophomore driver Jacob Campbell who has been knocking on the door.
The Jr Late Model division has already travelled to Sauble Speedway and has had one event at Grand Bend. Exeter driver Cody Wilds has two feature wins, Jacob Campbell and Logan White have also scored wins in the previous four events. This division is highly competitive this year and there are legitimately a number of drivers who can win at each stop of the tour.
The 3rd Annual Bash at the Beach takes place this Saturday at Grand Bend Speedway. Fans can spend the day at the popular beach town to take in the sights and sun, spend the evening at the speedway with great racing, and cap off the night with Live Entertainment and enjoy our spacious campground.
