@CTCCracing • @GP3R •Trois-Rivières, August 11, 2016 – Once again, the GP3R tradition carries on for CTCC presented by Continental Tire. Proud to be part of the success of one of the most important motorsport events in Canada, CTCC provides the Trois-Rivières fans with an experience that has become one of the most memorable moments of the weekend.

It is with a massive field of 32 cars, comprised of 21 Québec drivers and 11 Ontario drivers (30 men and 2 women), that CTCC will take on the famous circuit. Two races, including the must-see spectacular Friday night race, will offer fans close action between the 3 classes. CTCC yet again boasts a field of mixed manufactures including: Acura, BMW, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Mini, Mitsubishi, Porsche and Volkswagen.

Touring class points leader Michel Sallenbach in his No.46 Mini Cooper JCW will lead a pack of no less than 6 Minis this weekend! Teammate Paul Gravel sits third in his No.48 Mini Cooper S JCW. Squeezed in between is M&S Racing’s Jon Young in his No. 8 Honda Civic Si. Joining the Touring car fray are Guillaume Labbe in his No. 5 Empire Motorpsorts VW GLI, Patrice Lonergan of No.9 Equipe Liquidation bon Prix/Vapro Acura RSX Type S, Crystal Charest in the No.51 Team Octane Mini Cooper JCW and Sylvain Laporte also in a Team Octane No.50 Mini Cooper JCW. Sylvain raced with CTCC in 2008, 2009 & 2010.

The Super Touring class has been a back and forth, hotly contested championship so far this season. 8Legs Racing’s Eric Hochgeschurz No. 11 BMW 330i, and last year’s Most Outstanding Driver (as voted by his peers), holds a narrow point lead over Velocity Motorsports Scott Nicol who follows closely in 2nd by a mere 23 points in his No.41 Honda Civic Si. Only 52 points adrift is Jerimy Daniel in his No.10 Porsche Cayman S for The Racing Company. Giving the 3 leaders a strong challenge will be the Audette brothers with Mathieu and Remy in their No. 12 Acura RSX Type S and No. 21 Honda Civic Si respectively. Incidentally the brothers will be joined by their father Francois “papa” Audette who will run in Grand Touring class and hopes to beat his sons in this friendly family rivalry.

Indycar and Nascar star Alex Tagliani returns in the CTCC Grand Touring class to challenge for the overall win in the No. 75 Fast Wheels Ford Mustang Boss 302. Last year, Alex battled for the win in both races only to suffer electrical issues. The No.96 Camirand Competition BMW M3 of Marc-Antoine Camirand will also join the Grand Touring group. Marc-Antoine is the winningest driver at GP3R with 13 under his belt in various categories. They will be challenged by the class points leader, United Auto Racing’s Chris Sahakian in his No. 99 Ford Mustang Boss 302, and the speedy Hyundai Genesis Coupes of Damon Sharpe and Bob Attrell in the No. 84 and No. 88 Hyundai Racing/Blanchet Motorsports Genesis Coupes. Lindsay Rice of Rice Racing Bestline Auto Tech will make her series debut in her No. 18 Porsche 911 Carrera. Lindsay is a front runner in the Ontario regional GT series.
