Milverton, ON – Friday, August 26, 2022 – With only three races remaining in the 2022 NASCAR Pinty’s season, the series now heads to Quebec for the final time this year. The General Tire 125 will take place on Saturday, August 27th at Circuit ICAR. The 1.8-kilometre road course on the Mirabel Airport tarmac in Mirabel, QC is sure to host a thrilling race!
Going into the race weekend the 22 Racing drivers both hold an impressive top-five position in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series championship points standings, Alex Tagliani is in third and Treyten Lapcevich sits 12 points behind him in fourth!
Coming off of a hard-fought fifth-place finish at Ohsweken Speedway, Alex Tagliani is coming to ICAR searching for another solid finish. Previously Tagliani has claimed three poles and led 87 laps, earning him four top-five finishes at ICAR. In 2021 Tagliani finished fourth at this noteworthy track. With the series soon coming to a close Alex Tagliani and his No. 18 Viagra / St Huber Chevrolet Camaro are fighting for the win at ICAR but also to get closer to the NASCAR Pinty’s Series Championship points lead.
This will be Treyten Lapcevich’s second visit to Circuit ICAR, last year Lapcevich faced mechanical issues but made the best of the situation by going back out to gain some experience on the road course. After winning at Ohsweken Speedway Lapcevich is hoping to keep that momentum going with his No. 20 FBM / RGC Sports / Qwick Wick Chevrolet Camaro in Quebec this weekend.
Raceday will kick off with a practice on Saturday, August 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by qualifying from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.. The General Tire 125 at Circuit ICAR will go green at 5:45.
