TORONTO, ON- 2-time Canadian Tire Motorsports Park Mini Stock champion Willy Howells has an ambitious schedule planned for 2014. The Hampton, ON driver, one of the top young talents in the province, will compete fulltime at the newly re-opened Kawartha Speedway, after the closure of CTMP in August of 2013.
“Losing Canadian Tire Motorsports Park was tough”, remarked Howells. “My whole team grew up there as fans, our car performed really well there and the track itself suited my driving style”
A trip down the highway to Kawartha, will provide the 23-year old with a challenging new facility, and a step-up in competition.
“Our whole team is taking this change in venue seriously. Kawartha is no joke. I haven’t had the opportunity to compete there yet, but I know it’s a finesse track and has historically had some of the toughest Mini Stock drivers in Ontario on its roster”
Not wanting to wait until Kawartha’s season kicks-off in June, Howells will have his immaculately prepared #19 on display all weekend long, at the Canadian Motorsports Expo at Toronto’s International Centre.
“I’ve been looking forward to the CME all winter”, beamed Howells on move-in day. “This show gets bigger every year, and I couldn’t wait to be a part of it. We’ve worked so hard on this car, ever since it left the track for the final time in 2013, so to show it off to Ontario’s entire fan base is incredibly important to us. I love meeting new fans”
Howells will be handing out signed hero cards all weekend long, and is eager to discuss his 2014 season with CME patrons. Marketing support for Howells 2014 season will come from Taunton Tire, Sanford Auto, Durham Autoworks, Roughley Insurance, Oshawa Community Credit Union, DiBello Towing, Auto Accessory World, Team Blue and Hobby Revolution.
