GUELPH, ON – Team Royal-Hall was back in action last weekend in the heart of Kitchener, Ontario at Chicopee ski hill. The team has looked forward to this race for weeks as it is Dylan Hall’s hometown event. Both riders were happy to be back racing in Canada with the ISOC series wrapping up last week. The CSRA crew was fortunate to have enough snow to operate this late season race managing to put together a huge track.
Saturday’s weather drew a large and enthusiastic crowd to cheer on the team. In their heats both riders managed to pull out first place qualifiers. In the finals rider Dylan Hall managed to pull off the big win in front of the hometown crowd. Joanis also rode strong with respectable 3rd place podium finish.
Sunday much like Saturday was a beautiful day for racing. Both riders again rode strong qualifiers and were favorites in the finals. Hall, after riding in his second moto found his sled was under performing. After the moto, mechanic Sean tore into the sled to determine the problem, finding a blown piston and ring minutes before the race. The team scrambled in to action changing the piston and ring in less than 20 minutes, getting the sled to the line with not a second to spare.
Both Hall and Joanis got a good jump off the line with Joanis behind the leader and Hall close behind in 3rd. Joanis made some big moves during the race passing the leader to take first in the finals with Hall close behind taking the 3rd spot.
Special thanks to Ski Doo, FXR, J & R Hall Transport, Kimpex, Ipone Oil, Dayco Belts, Studboy Traction, Fox Racing Shox, Oakley Eyewear, Jaws Performance, Camoplast, C and A Pro Skis, Tekvest, and Manitoulin Motorsports.
