HOUSTON, TX (October 10, 2012) – Mahindra USA, the number one selling tractor in the world based on volume, congratulates its sponsored race driver DJ Kennington, DJK Racing and the #17 Castrol Edge Dodge team on winning the 2012 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series in a record-breaking season. This is the team’s second championship in three years.
In addition to winning the championship, Kennington set several series records including seven victories in a single season, six oval track wins in a year, and, a testament to the team’s consistent performance in 2012, eleven top five finishes in a year.
“We are proud to be a part of the DJK Racing team and are pleased for DJ’s success in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series,” said Cleo Franklin, Mahindra USA’s Vice-President, Marketing and Strategic Planning. “Our partnership with DJ and his racing team is a great pairing with Mahindra USA’s brand. The drive and commitment to excel is key to DJ’s success and an integral part of Mahindra’s culture.”
This is the fourth consecutive year Mahindra has sponsored the Kennington team. DJ and his team won the Canadian Tire Series Championship in 2010 and finished the 2011 series with a second place finish.
“We value the partnership with Mahindra USA and really appreciate their commitment to our continued success,” said Kennington. “Mahindra’s support and enthusiasm for the sport and especially for the DJK Racing team goes above and beyond our expectations.”
