BRAMPTON, ON – The DSE Automotive Sportsman Racing Series announces its 2013 schedule that will feature twelve races over six weekends at two of Canada’s most historic race facilities this summer.
Both Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park and St. Thomas Raceway Park will both host events for the 2013 DSE Sportsman Racing Series this summer, which is entering into its second full season. The Schedule will consist of six weekend events featuring a race each day on Saturday and Sunday. Competitors in Super Pro, Modified, Super Bike & Sled, Jr Dragster, and Street Eliminator will again be competing for the Top honour of being crowned the Class Champion.
Competitors in Top Sportsman and Top Dragster will also have the opportunity to race with the DSE Sportsman Series this year in their Frantic 14 class, which pins the fastest seven Dragsters against the fastest seven Door Car entries. As well, racers who compete in NHRA Super Gas category will have a chance to race at select events during the 2013 campaign.
“I could not be more pleased that the DSE Sportsman Series is returning to Cayuga this season, We all worked hard to get this off the ground for its inaugural year last season, and it is really starting to pay off, this series is the best thing for Bracket Racing that I have seen in the 20 years I have ran Cayuga Dragway, and they have gotten the year end payouts higher than we have ever had,” said Cayuga Dragway Track Manager Neale Armstrong.
He continued, “Andrew, Jess, David, Elaine and the group are great friends, and excellent to work with, I have great respect for the series, and I see nothing but good coming from it in the future. Bracket Racing finally has a future and a mainstay in Ontario, I am truly impressed that it is as successful as it is after only one season and it is always getting better!”
“Our first goal was getting the Series back to Cayuga Dragway and continuing our success with TMP, the addition of St. Thomas Raceway Park is very exciting for us, and our racers, we cannot wait for the August event,” said Series Director Andrew Stirk. “St Thomas is a fun Track to race at and Track Manager Jay Morse and his crew have done a fantastic job with the facility since taking over a few years ago.”
Racers in the Series will be able to claim their best 7 points days out of the 12, complete series information as well details on the year-end Points Fund now in excess of $12,000 to-date, can be found at www.sportsmanracingseries.ca.
