FREDERICTON, NB – Fans were treated to an exciting night of racing as Speedway 660 opened the 2012 season. Glyn Nott and Greg Fahey dominated action in the Sportsman and Pro Stock Division.
Nott completed the hat trick in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman Division by winning his heat, dash and feature. Fahey won his heat, finished 2nd in the dash and won the A.L. Gullison Disaster Clean-up Pro Stock feature.
Nott outdueled Brent Roy in the 30 lap Sportsman feature to take the checkers. Peter Gaddess also had a strong run and finished 3rd. Fahey, the defending Pro Stock champ, won his 40 lap feature by beating Dave O’Blenis who finished 2nd and 2010 champion Chris Duncan who crossed the stripe 3rd. Defending R.V. World Street Stock champion Rick Cashol got the best of fan favourite Heidi Cooper to win his 20 lap feature. After leading 17 laps Cooper had to settle for 3rd, while Beji Ruff came home 2nd.
Fans were also treated to exciting action in the Hanwell Village Mart Bandolero and 4 cylinder divisions. Cole Tanner got his 2012 season off to a great start by winning his 15 lap feature. Cole Boudreau took 2nd and Drew Greenlaw finished 3rd. T.J. Madore went to victory lane in the 4 cylinder division, followed by Jeremy Doran and Kevin Peterson.
Next Saturday evening Speedway 660 hosts its popular Kids Day event and on June 9th the Pro All Star Series comes to the Geary Woods.
