@NASCARHomeTrack • @andrew_ranger • (July 8, 2015)- This coming Saturday, July 11, Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team will return to Edmonton International Raceway to defend their victory from one year ago as the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series makes the first stop on the annual trip through western Canada for round number five of the 2015 season.

Ranger was thrilled to score the win a year ago during the inaugural series race at the quarter mile track situated south of the city and feels he and his #27 Mopar Parts Dodge are capable of repeating.

“It’s a fun track,” said Ranger.  “It’s a real short track and we had a great set up on the car last year so I’m looking forward to it” he added.

Last season Ranger also had a methodical approach to the day and looks to employ the same strategy this weekend in the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge.

“You want to be up front to try and be in a good position,” explained the driver.  “That means working hard in practice to have a good car during qualifying and then trying to stay up front”.

Often with short tracks drivers can get aggressive but Ranger thinks about Edmonton a little differently.

“It’s a very technical track and you need some patience as well.  You want to be smart and stay out of trouble and I’m looking forward to trying for another win.  If we can do that then we’ll take a good step in the points” he stated.

Heading into the race Ranger sits sixth in the very tight overall championship standings.

Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge hit the track at Edmonton International Raceway on Saturday July 11th for practice & qualifying during the day.  The 300-lap feature begins at 8PM local time.

Broadcast Info:  Fans can watch all the action from round five at Edmonton International Raceway Saturday July 18th at 2:30PM ET on TSN and Friday July 31st at 8PM ET on RDS2.

Race fans can also get more information and follow the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team all season by going to www.mopar.ca and clicking on Motorsports.
