@NASCARHomeTrack • @andrew_ranger • @Circuit_ICAR • (June 30, 2015)- One year ago at Circuit ICAR in Mirabel, Qubec Andrew Ranger collected his first victory with the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. As the series returns for round number four on this years schedule Ranger is seeking his second straight win with the team and his fourth consecutive victory at the track.
On his way to victory the last two years Ranger has also started the race from pole position. The one lap track qualifying record time of 95.938 seconds was set by the Roxton Pond, Quebec native in 2013. Needless to say he’s excited about returning to the track where he’s enjoyed so much success.
“I want to keep it going for sure,” said Ranger. “We had a very good car last year and I really like the track. It’s a nice facility, it can be very slippery and a lot of guys may not like that but I do and it really suits my driving,” he added.
It was last year at the 2.113 mile track was a breakthrough moment for the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team as they began to climb their way up the championship standings. After a difficult night in the last event Ranger is hopeful for the same kind of boost.
“We had some bad luck at Sunset but I know everyone is working really hard and we’re looking for the same kind of boost as last year. We went on and won in Edmonton last year and I’m hoping to do the same and move up in the standings” he stated.
The #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team will on track for practice and qualifying at Circuit ICAR this coming Saturday July 4th and the feature race is Sunday July 5th at 2:45PM.
