@NewHumberstone • PORT COLBORNE, ONTARIO… The Humberstone Speedway is planning one of the biggest nights of the season and it is in honor of late owner Pete Cosco. Cosco passed away last August after suffering a brain aneurism at the age of 60.

The DIRTcar 358 Modifieds will be racing in a 75 lap main event. The inaugural Pete Cosco Memorial will see the winner take home $3717.00 plus lap money.

A special thanks to Walters Excavating for their support as we honor the life of Pete Cosco. As part of the program, Glen River Contracting will be presenting Pete’s Pursuit, an eight lap dash for cash featuring the top three qualifiers out of each heat race.

“For Pete’s Pursuit, the cars will be lined up with the fastest qualifiers at the back of the field” stated Humberstone Speedway’s Director of Race Night Operations Clinton Geoffrey.

“Each lap, the last place car will be eliminated with just the top two cars left on the final lap” Geoffrey added.

The winner of Pete’s Pursuit will earn $300 with $275 for second, $250 for third, $200 for fourth, $175 for fifth, $150 for sixth, $125 for seventh, $100 for eighth and $75 for last. The winner of Pete’s Pursuit will choose a random non-dash car to win $50, making a total purse of $1700.
