Morad, driving the No. 2 CRP Racing Mercedes AMG GT3, started from pole and never relinquished the lead to take the checkered ahead of Michael Christensen, of Karlslunde, Denmark, in the No. 24 Alegra Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R. Italy’s Daniel Mancinelli in the No. 31 TR3 Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 finished 3rd. Tsawwassen, British Columbia’s Scott Hargrove, leading in the GT Driver’s Championship coming into the weekend finished 4th piloting the No. 96 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R. Rounding out the top 5 was two-time 24 Hours of Le Mans class winner Toni Vilander of Finland in the No. 61 R. Ferri Motorsport Ferrari 488 GT3.
Drivers from the NASCAR Pinty’s series took to the track for their first action of the 2018 season. Kevin Lacroix, of Saint-Eustache, Que., will start on pole in his No. 74 Bumper to Bumper/Total/Go Fast Dodge for Sunday’s Clarington 200. The 51-lap race is scheduled for a 1 pm green flag.
