PORT COLBORNE, ON - Starting on the front row for the 25-lap COSCO HAULAGE DIRTcar Sportsman series at Humberstone Speedway on Friday, July 13, was Jeff Armstrong with Dave Flannigan Jr. alongside of him. On the drop of the green flag from starter John Veach, Armstrong had the early lead coming out of turn two but it was Flannigan with the point coming across the start-finish line to lead lap one.

Flannigan would then lead the next twelve laps, withstanding charges first from Adam Leslie and then B.J. Willard. On lap thirteen, Willard would get around Flannigan and Leslie and then lead the rest of the way. With no cautions to bunch up the field, Willard would have an easy time picking up his first win of 2012. That's not to say there wasn't any action anywhere else though, as Gary Lindberg and Greg Panunte moved up smartly from their seventh and ninth starting spots respectively, getting around Flannigan and Leslie. At the finish, it was Willard getting the win in practically a new car for him, replacing the one that was wrecked last Saturday at Merrittville, with Lindberg second and Panunte third. Hanging on for fourth was Flannigan with Leslie in fifth. Heat winners were Armstrong, Leslie and Willard.

PETERS EXCAVATING FASTRAK Late Models completed their 20-lap main with Paul Milligan on the front row followed by Don Spiece. On the start, it was Milligan with the early lead coming out of turn two. He would lead the first four laps, surviving cautions for spins by Bill Gill and Kenny Winfield and then the big crash on lap four involving Spiece, Zack Carley and the father and son team of Darren and Jorden Peters. Both D. Peters and Z.Carley were done for the night as both cars had to be cradled off to the pits. After the lengthy delay clearing the track and on the restart, the wily veteran Ed Carley would take the lead from Milligan and then run away with it, getting out to a healthy margin by the end of the race. With no other cautions to bunch things back together, Adam Ferri and Tim Gillespie didn't have a chance to get close to Carley and that is how they finished. At the checkered flag, it was Carley as the winner, his second in two weeks, Ferri was second and Gillespie was third. Hanging on to fourth was Milligan and salvaging at least something out of his bad night was Jorden Peters. Heat winners were Milligan and D. Peters.

In the 20-lap J C AUTO Street Stocks, with a vastly improved car count for the Street Stocks, we had Barry Blanchard on the pole with Shawn Wilson alongside of him. On the start, Blanchard grabbed the early lead and held it for the first two laps. Jason Fontaine moved up smartly from his fourth starting spot to take the point on lap two, bringing Billy Hogue and Chris Duchesne along with him. The first caution of the race was for Blanchard who broke the left rear axle of his Camaro and took a wild spin on the front stretch, doing a double loop and facing the wrong way going into turn one. On the restart, it was a wild battle between Fontaine, Hogue and Duchesne for many laps until lap fourteen when Hogue tapped the back bumper of Fontaine, which had been loosened up in the Blanchard incident somehow, and sent it flying off the car with it landing against the front stretch wall. The yellow flag flew to allow the CAA tow crew to pick up the bumper and get it out of harm's way. On the restart, it was still Fontaine leading with Hogue ,Duchesne and Paul Reichel right behind. Reichel would have some problems soon after that though and drop off the pace. The yellow flew again on lap sixteen for a spin by Tyler Anderson but on this restart, there was a collision on turn four between Jordan Fidler and Dave Bitner Jr., which also collected Reichel and Steve Robison to some extent. Everybody was able to continue but it was not really competitive, with Reichel actually retiring to the pits soon after. On the restart, it was still Fontaine in the lead with Hogue glued to where his rear bumper should have been and Duchesne right behind Hogue. The last four laps did nothing to change the running order. Fontaine picked up his first win of 2012 with Hogue second and Duchesne third. Fourth was Wilson with Bob MacNamara fifth. Heat winners were Duchesne, Reichel and Fidler.

NIAGARA AUTO SALES Pro 4 Trucks 15-lap feature, starting on the front row was Danny Wurster followed by Hilary Haegens. On the drop of the green, Wurster would grab the early lead and then hang on to it for the first nine laps. On lap nine, the only caution for the run would come out for rookie Taylor Vanderzanden and veteran Andy Imbeault who were hooked together coming out of turn two and couldn't come apart. This restart set up a race long battle between Wurster and Adam Nicholls with the two of them swapping the lead back and forth every different lap. Nicholls would finally take the lead for good on lap twelve and hang on for his second win of 2012. Wurster held on for second with Mike Toovey holding off Lee Sleight for third. Sleight held on to fourth and Greg Haegens coming in fifth. Heat winners were Hilary Haegens and Sleight.

In the 15-lap WEEKEND MOTORSPORTS Mini Stocks, Jocelyne Wiley started the race with Rob Overholt alongside her. On the drop of the green, Overholt grabbed the early lead, bringing Brandon Iudiciani with him. This set up a race-long battle between the two brightly painted Mustangs. Overholt led the battle with Iudiciani no more than a car length behind him. Throughout the race Iudiciani got his front bumper by Overholt's rear wheel but no closer and with no contact. The only yellow flag in the run was for a collision between Kyle Pelrine and Nate Monahan in turn four on lap 10. Monahan got loose in turn four and Pelrine had nowhere to go to miss him and they collided. Both were able to continue but with the yellow being so late in the race, neither of them were in contention any longer. At the end, it was Overholt the winner, picking up his second win of 2012, with Iudiciani second and Garnet Wilson third. Fourth was Wiley with fifth going to Tyler Lafantasie. Heat winners were Wiley and Overholt.

In their 15-lap main for the FRONTIER AUTO DISMANTLERS Pure Stocks, Brad Alward started on the front row with Kyle Tomaski beside him. On the drop of the green it was Tomaski taking the early lead for the first two laps. Then, Sam Iftody charged up from his fourth starting spot, grabbed the lead away from Tomaski and held it to the end of the run. At the finish, it was Iftody for the win, Tomaski was second and Leroy Buscumb was third. Fourth was Oliver Larocque with Mike Greene in fifth. After post-race technical inspection, both Iftody and Buscumb were found illegal and penalized both their points and money earned for the night. Heat winners were Billy Smith and Brad Booker.
