BROCKVILLE, ON - It was a case of girl Power beating the boys at their own game on Saturday night at Brockville Ontario Speedway. Kingston's Jessica Power scored her second career Sportsman victory pulling away both times on late restarts to preserve her victory. It was sweet moment on Father's Day as mom and dad Power have been a big part of Jessica's racing career from day one.

Power picked up the lead just past the halfway mark of the 25-lap event getting around Doug O'Blenis. Chris Herbison then took up the chase in the later stages. Two restarts including one on the very last lap gave the four time winner a chance to ruin the parade. However, Power powered away both times opening up a four car length gap on the final circuit for the win. Herbison settled for second followed by Dylan Evoy, O'Blenis and Bruce Makinson.

Dale Planck became the first two time winner in the 358 Modified class this season after a classic see saw battle with former track champ Lee Gill over the final 10 laps. Gill was the leader with 10 to go, Planck went by to take the lead, only to have Gill take it right back again with 3 laps to go. Then, lapped traffic blocked Gill in on the inside of the track on the final lap, allowing Planck to go around the outside for the win. Early leader Stephane LaFrance fresh off a second place run in the bag race at intermission was third in front of Matt Billings and Pat O'Brien.

One of the hardest working guys in the Street Stock division finally had his moment in the sun. Steve Kearney picked up his first win and had some of his fellow drivers stop and greet him in the winner's circle. Kearney went wire to wire in the 15 lap affair. Travis Andrews ended up second with Mike Schonauer, Kevin Fetterly and Brock Cullen rounding out the fast five.

Quincy Roberts went from third to first on a mid-race restart and then ran away and hid for Rookie honours. Josh Kirkland ran a consistent second with Joe McNicholls, Mikey Blais, and Chris Bakker, third through fifth respectively. Jason Powers led all the way in the Vintage clash beating Steve Lackie, Denzil Billings, Paul Billings and Brian Comeau to the line.

The night featured the baptism of the brand new Benson Auto Parts scoreboard on the back stretch. The state of the art scoring beacon was installed last week. Brockville Ontario Speedway returns to action next Saturday night, June 23, with a full race program beginning at 7 p.m.
